Beginning of my new collection 'Abundance.' Here I use both underglaze painting and overglaze painting with pigments and gold. When the clouds gather, the only answer is to bloom like never before. Firstly, you never know what tomorrow will bring. Secondly, it's the only thing to counter Thanatos. Everyone blooms in their own way, and this is how I do it.
I was wandering in Kharkiv and saw floral paintings inspired by the Ukrainian artist Nikolay Samokish on one of the doors of an entrance. It's amazing that Nikolay Samokish was an artist who painted battle scenes. He depicted battles, horses, and warriors. And suddenly - flowers. In Kharkiv, there are (I hope they still exist) his original entrance wall paintings on Mironositska Street. I believe it's not a random combination of themes in his work. The world consists of Eros and Thanatos, of wars and flowers.

These plates are my inner protest, another white stone in the balance of both. When I thought about the series name, I wanted to call it 'Blossoming.' But in reality, blossoming is only possible from abundance. From a rich spiritual soil, from accumulated love and joy, from everything that peaceful life has generously given us. So, the series is about that. Welcome, admire, rejoice.
The plates are fully functional.
